STEP 2. SET UP THE LOOM

The preparation consists of setting up a 40 to 100 meters long weaving chain and winding the thread on a wooden board at the end of the loom. The warp threads extend over the weaving frame, between the teeth of the reed (2 threads per tooth or more than 4,500 threads in total). It is a long and laborious stage because it requires five women to form a loom (1 loom equal to 100 meters long, representing 50 throws)."
